This was my fall back school, but I heard that it's pretty hard to get into. I think if you've been really active in organizations in high school, that looks good.

My SAT score was 2170 and my GPA was 4Dec 24 2008Biology
My SAT score was 2170 and my GPA was 4.0 uw and 4.4 w. I also had a crazy amount of extracurriculars and leadership positions.
For people who want to get in to JMU, keep your GPA above 3.5 and your SATs around 1100 (M and CR). JMU is becoming increasingly harder to get into, so having extracurriculars and leadership positions will be very beneficial.
Also, DO THE PERSONAL STATEMENT. It says it's optional, but do it.

Although my test scores weren't the greatest, I madeDec 12 2008Political Science
Although my test scores weren't the greatest, I made sure I maintained a high GPA in high school. I also took AP courses in high school, which helped immensely!

Students who want to further their education at JMU should focus on maintaining mostly A's and some B's in high school courses, do well on SATs (1100s-1200s as an avg) and ACTs (24-25 as avg), and take several AP/IB courses for credit.
ACT: 24 Female
